This system is a precision electrode coating line for lithium-ion battery manufacturing and development work. It applies prepared slurry uniformly onto foil substrate, then dries and rewinds the coated web to prepare it for downstream processing. A coordinated unwinding section, coating section, electric-heated oven, traction section, rewinding section, and electrical control system support a continuous material path from incoming roll to finished coated roll. The 400 mm roller-face width provides a practical format for controlled laboratory, pilot, and process-development electrode production.

The equipment supports both continuous coating and intermittent gap coating for positive and negative electrode sheets. It is intended for aluminum-foil cathodes using lithium iron phosphate, ternary, and similar material systems, as well as copper-foil graphite anodes. It is suitable where coating width, coating mass, dry thickness, web transport, and roll preparation must remain within the defined process range before subsequent cell fabrication operations.

Built around dedicated unwind, coating, drying, traction, and rewind functions, this unit provides an organized production sequence for demanding electrode work. The single-layer, electrically heated drying zone is integrated with controlled roll-to-roll handling, while single-position manual roll change arrangements keep the equipment configuration clear for operators. Extrusion coating configuration can be customized to suit the user's process requirements.

  • Continuous and Intermittent Gap Coating: The equipment supports continuous coating and intermittent gap coating for both cathode and anode electrode sheets. This gives process teams one platform for producing continuously coated webs and patterned coated sections used in cell-electrode preparation.

  • 400 mm Roller-Face Platform: A 400 mm roller-face width supports substrate widths from 100 to 320 mm. This format accommodates electrode development and production tasks while retaining sufficient allowance for controlled web guidance and roll handling.

  • Defined Electrode Coating Window: Maximum coating width is 300 mm for both electrode types, with single-side dry coating thickness from 50 to 250 µm. Cathode coating mass is specified at 100 to 250 g/m², while anode coating mass is specified at 80 to 200 g/m².

  • Integrated Electric-Heated Drying: The oven uses electric heating and has one single-layer section measuring 2 m per section, for a total oven length of 2 m. Maximum oven temperature is 140℃, supporting the drying stage between wet slurry application and rewinding.

  • Matched Unwind and Rewind Capacity: Both the unwind and rewind units accept rolls up to φ200 mm diameter and 100 kg maximum load. The same capacity at both ends of the line helps maintain a consistent roll-to-roll workflow from substrate supply through finished-web collection.

  • Multi-Core Roll Compatibility: The unwind and rewind systems accept 3-inch internal-diameter cores, approximately 76.2 mm, with roll length no greater than 450 mm. Metal, ABS plastic, and paper cores are supported, allowing the unit to work with the listed common roll-core materials.

  • Controlled Web Transport Architecture: A dedicated traction unit is positioned within the overall line configuration. Together with the unwind and rewind sections, it supports movement of aluminum or copper foil through coating and drying operations before the material is collected.

  • Application-Specific Slurry Ranges: The process envelope covers cathode slurries based on lithium iron phosphate, ternary materials, and similar systems in NMP, plus graphite anode slurries in DI-Water.
