It converts slit electrode rolls into completed electrode sheets with welded tabs and protective tape, then automatically rewinds the processed material into orderly rolls for downstream cell assembly. The integrated workflow reduces manual material handling while maintaining repeatable positioning at critical tab and tape locations.
The equipment is suited to positive- and negative-electrode processing for lithium battery manufacturing, pilot-scale production, process development, and advanced battery R&D. It handles electrode material with thicknesses from 90 um to 250 um, widths from 40 mm to 130 mm, and individual sheet lengths from 300 mm to 2000 mm. Separate positive and negative configurations provide process-specific tape application and welding arrangements, supporting the differing production requirements of each electrode type.
Designed for demanding production environments, this unit uses servo control, ultrasonic welding, roll-pressure rewinding, and dedicated powder brushing with dust collection. In-process confirmation of tab welding and tape application provides immediate visibility of key process steps. When a missing weld or tape condition is identified, the operator can manually reverse the electrode sheet for supplementary welding or tape application, helping protect material value and sustain stable output.

Ultrasonic Tab Welding: Standard ultrasonic welding forms the tab-to-electrode connection with a specified welding effective area of at least 80% and welding tensile force of at least 15 N. The process requirements call for no over-welding or false welding, supporting dependable electrical and mechanical tab attachment.

Controlled Positioning Accuracy: Tab tape position accuracy, tab protective-tape length position accuracy, welding length error, and welding position error are each specified at ±0.5 mm.
