Product Overview

This manual slitting machine is designed for accurately converting large lithium battery electrode sheets into narrower strips during electrode manufacturing. It combines a rigid frame, integrated machine body, feeding section, receiving section, drive system, and upper and lower slitting knife die assembly in one compact processing unit. Operators manually position and feed the electrode sheet while the matched rotary knives produce the required strip widths. This direct mechanical process gives laboratories practical control over electrode preparation without adding unnecessary automation complexity.
The equipment is purpose-built for polymer lithium battery electrode slitting and supports the electrode fabrication stage before downstream cell assembly. It is suitable for R&D laboratories, pilot-scale battery development, university research groups, and materials teams preparing electrode strips for pouch-cell processes. The adjustable slitting capability supports a broad range of sheet formats and strip requirements, helping teams prepare samples, trial lots, and process-development materials from larger coated electrode sheets.
Reliable operation depends on correct knife alignment, controlled knife clearance, level installation, and regular lubrication. The system is engineered around a geared drive arrangement, AC induction motor, protected electrical supply, and straightforward start-stop controls. Its accessible knife-die arrangement enables careful setup for clean cutting, while the specified maintenance routine helps preserve stable mechanical performance in demanding laboratory production environments.
Key Features
-
Wide Adjustable Slitting Range: The equipment supports slitting widths from 5-480 mm, allowing users to prepare narrow test strips or wider electrode sections from one platform. Final strip width is determined by the installed upper and lower knife die combination.
-
Large Electrode Sheet Capacity: This unit accepts electrode sheets with a maximum slitting size of 400 mm. The capacity supports preparation of polymer lithium battery electrode materials from larger sheets before cell-format-specific cutting and assembly.
-
Matched Upper and Lower Rotary Knife Dies: The cutting system uses aligned upper and lower knife dies to divide manually fed electrode sheets into required smaller pieces. Proper adjustment of the knife gap and engagement depth supports clean separation while avoiding excessive knife contact.
-
Manual Guided Feeding: An inlet-board positioning plate provides a physical reference for aligning the electrode sheet before it enters the knife dies. Operators feed the material with both hands after the rotary knives reach stable speed, supporting controlled handling of electrode sheets.
-
Geared AC Drive System: A 0.37 kW AC asynchronous motor drives the rotary knife system through a 1:40 reduction gearbox. This mechanical configuration is specified to provide controlled knife rotation for the slitting process.
-
Protected 220 V Electrical Supply: The electrical system operates from 50 Hz AC220V power with grounding protection and includes a DZ47-15 protector. A T3SN-310 push-button switch and 20 V, 22 mm indicator light support clear basic machine operation.
-
Compact Equipment Footprint: With overall dimensions of 740 mm (L) x 620 mm (W) x 740 mm (H), the unit is sized for laboratory and pilot-line equipment layouts. Its approximate 250 kg weight provides a substantial installed platform for slitting work.
-
Maintenance-Oriented Mechanical Design: The specified service routine covers gearbox oil replacement, grease availability, transmission-gear lubrication, fastener inspection, dry knife-die storage, and shutdown during prolonged idle periods. These requirements help users maintain the cutting and drive assemblies in serviceable condition.

The listed operating and maintenance requirements are part of the equipment specification and should be incorporated into laboratory work instructions. Before installing a knife die, inspect the die for integrity. Remove the pressure plates and slider from the machine vertical plate, install the required knife die, reinstall the pressure plates on both sides, and use the handwheel to lower the upper knife gently into the lower knife. Tighten the backup screw on the handwheel screw and install the protective cover before normal operation.
During production, use the inlet positioning plate to locate the electrode sheet and push the material into the knife die with both hands only after the motor-driven knives are running smoothly. Remove slit edge material promptly after cutting. Maintaining a clean knife area, correct knife engagement, appropriate lubrication, and a level machine position is essential to the specified operating method.
